Junior Captain's Drive-in.

A gallery of 20 gathered to watch Joe Queen drive into office on the 21 st of Feb. Despite the pressure Joe hit an impressive tee shot. Joe partnered Hon Sec. Mike Bland in a 4BBB against vice-captain Sam Smith who played with former Junior Organiser Jon Denwood. This match was halved giving captain Joe his only point of the day.

Tiger Cubs.

The Tiger Cubs have played 8 six hole competitions during the winter months. The format has included Stroke Play, Flag Competitions, Pairs, 2 Club Challenge and Stablefords. Special rules, handicaps and procedures have been invented to facilitate progress. An Order of Merit, shown below, indicates that the competition has become quite intense. After the final 9 hole Stableford there could be any one of 4 winners.

These youngsters have played through a cold, wet winter and retained their enthusiasm. They have had great support from the coaching staff and their parents. Through playing regularly together they have also developed good friendships and we all look forward to their further improvement in the warmer weather as the course also progresses.

The Tiger Cubs held the final winter event on Sunday ( Date ??) with a closely contested Order of Merit which could have been won by any one of 4 players.

Emma Kennedy won the Order of Merit Trophy and Morgan White who had
the biggest reduction in handicap won the Improver Trophy.

These youngsters have played in competitions since last November during some very testing weather - well done !! and thanks also to their parents for their support, encouragement and for their shepherding around the course of the young Tiger Cubs.  Particular thanks go to Gary White for his organisation of the competitions.

In April, the Tiger Cubs look forward to a new series of competitions, details to follow, and some may graduate to the 'official' 9 hole competitions.
