20 - 02 - 12 ...... After very many years of hard work and dedication on behalf of The Eden Golf Club and previously at Barrow Golf Club we are sorry to lose the tremendous services of Alan Benson as Handicap Secretary.

Alan has decided to hang up his CONGU book and hand over the role of looking after the men and junior handicaps system. He has closed out many a hundred competitions and produced the lists of thousands of prize winners. He has checked countless score cards, DQ'd just a few offenders on the way and interpreted many a 'srcawl' from 'soggy' totals of gross scores.

Alan continues to work hard for the senior section as their Treasurer and puts the interests of Eden Golf Club high on his list of priorities. We wish him well and thank him on behalf of all the members for his efforts.

The Committee would like to hear from any member who would be interested in continuing the role of Handicap Secretary beginning next season, 2012.

20 - 10 - 11 ...... After many years of hard work on behalf of the competitive players at our club we will be sorry to lose the valuable services of Bob Paterson - Competition Secretary.

Bob has tirelessly organized start sheets, deciphering many and varied styles of handwriting from the notice board along the way. He has attended to the closing of competitions on the day and sorted out the collection, polishing and re-distribution of many trophies at each season end.

Bob was Club Captain in 2005 and during that year managed to hold down both roles with great energy, patience and skill. We wish Bob luck in his well earned rest and any other ventures he chooses to pursue.

The Committee would like to hear from any member who would be interested in continuing the role of Competition Secretary beginning next season, 2012.
